Glerups Felt Shoes
The Glerups Felt Shoes and Felt Slippers come from Denmark and are made from 100% pure natural wool with a calf skin sole. In 1993, Nanny Glerup started producing slippers made of felted wool on a small scale, simply as a hobby. They were so well received by friends and family that she decided to make it her living. However she was able to manufacture 2 pairs only a day. Since then she has developed new production techniques and over the years she has developed and refined the products, assisted by her husband Ove Glerup. Glerups Felt Shoes are handmade using natural, non-toxic materials and environmentally friendly production methods. The calf skin sole is vegetable softened.

In 2007, artist Klaus Haapaniemi wowed the design world with his unique Taika collection. Spring 2011 will see the triumph of a new Haapaniemi collection, with warm, glowing terracotta as its main colour. A lush, floral theme circled, of course, by gyrating, delicate dragonflies, lies at the heart of the collection. As ever, Haapaniemi's rendering of an enchanted forest is so evocative that onlookers can almost smell the floral fragrances.
Each Korento (Finnish for dragonfly) piece is hand crafted by applying silk screen print design to basic white porcelain before being glazed and fired. Modern style comes to life in this dinnerware collection, maintaining Iittala’s ability to mix and match pieces while adding a touch of magic to your home and everyday life. IITTALA KASTEHELMI BOWL

The idea of using droplets of glass as decoration came to Toikka when he was thinking of ways of covering the joint marks left on the surface of pressed glass pieces by the production process. His experiments with various droplet moulds resulted in a completely new surface structure that highlighted the play of light on the surface and how it reflected. The name he chose - Kastehelmi (Finnish for dewdrop) - was inspired by the lines of dewdrops on grass stems typical of summer mornings.
